Lesson Series Title: Government Services- Consumer Awareness and Protection
This lesson series supports Language, Health and Physical Education, Social Studies and Media expectations. It includes explores the development of inquiry skills and application of disciplinary thinking focusing on perspective. Students explore how government affects our lives, and the roles, rights and responsibilities of citizens specifically related to being an informed consumer. Students also analyze how consumer awareness and protection services can be used to inform and protect young consumers so they can make responsible decisions about food choices and healthy eating. Throughout the series, the extension activities offer a wealth of learning opportunities.
